Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026

This policy covers PingAnswers services. You can contact us about your information at help@pinganswers.com.

Who we are and what this covers

PingAnswers operates pinganswers.com and the PingAnswers services described here. This policy covers our website, email question-and-answer service, study tools, flashcards, quizzes and games, resume and job research tools, teacher workspaces and assignments, and mobile apps including PingAnswers Airline Prep and interview practice. The information processed depends on the features you use. New services may have additional notices.

For privacy questions or requests, contact help@pinganswers.com. This policy describes information handling; it does not replace any separate permission required to access your microphone or share personal information with an AI service.

Information we process

Account and contact information: email address, account identifiers, authentication information, account verification and support messages. Names, school details, job information or other profile details are processed when you supply them. Password authentication uses password hashes rather than storing your password as readable text.

Questions and content: emails and conversation history; prompts and AI responses; documents, images and text submitted to supported tools; resume and employment details; study materials, flashcards, quiz answers and results; and interview answers and transcripts. Content can include personal information you choose to provide. Only submit information you are authorized to share, and avoid unnecessary sensitive information.

Voice features: when you choose to record an answer and allow microphone access, we process your recording for transcription and the resulting text for feedback. Some practice history and recording files may remain on your device. Audio and text processing have different retention practices; see below.

Education features: when used, teacher workspaces and digital assignments process source materials, assignment settings, participant identifiers, submitted answers, progress, scores and timing information. Teachers or organizers can see information submitted to their assignments.

Purchases: plan, subscription or pass status, purchase history, payment-provider customer and transaction identifiers, and billing information needed to manage access and support. Stripe processes payments made through its checkout. Full card information entered in that checkout is handled by Stripe.

Usage and technical information: app or website interactions, installation or session identifiers, device/browser/platform information, access tier, error information, and service logs. Hosting and advertising services can receive network information such as IP addresses. Signed-in activity can be associated with an account; hashing an identifier does not necessarily make it anonymous.

How we use information

We use information to answer questions, maintain conversation context, generate and edit requested content, transcribe recordings, provide interview coaching, administer study activities, deliver assignments and show results to the appropriate teacher or organizer.

We also use information to authenticate accounts, verify eligibility for offers, enforce usage limits, manage paid access and subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and understand feature usage. Website advertising technologies can help measure campaigns and conversions. Any promotional email preferences are separate from essential account and service messages.

AI processing and service providers

OpenAI processes content sent to our AI features. Depending on the task, this can include your prompt, email conversation, interview answer or transcript, resume or job context, and materials supplied to supported study or teaching tools. Audio submitted for transcription is sent to OpenAI. Text may also be sent to generate spoken questions or feedback. Research features can send search queries derived from your request to search services.

OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. Provider retention depends on the endpoint and account settings. Some text requests and responses can be retained by the provider; do not assume all AI content disappears immediately after you receive an answer.

We use Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database services, Resend for email delivery and processing, Stripe for payment services, and Google Ads on the website for advertising measurement. These providers receive information necessary for their services. Your email provider also handles messages you send or receive. Provider privacy information is linked below.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable protections. Content submitted to an assignment is shared with its teacher or organizer. Other third-party sites you visit through links operate under their own policies.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies or similar storage for sign-in, preferences and service operation. Our native interview apps use installation identifiers and usage events for internal analytics. Internal analytics can be linked to your account; this is distinct from advertising tracking across unrelated services.

The website includes Google Ads technology, which can process cookies or similar identifiers, page visits, IP addresses and conversion events. Depending on configuration, these technologies can support advertising measurement or personalized advertising. Website advertising practices should not be assumed to be identical to native app practices.

You can manage cookies through your browser and advertising preferences through Google My Ad Center and device settings. Blocking storage may affect sign-in or other features. Contact us about privacy choices, including objections to advertising-related processing where applicable. We do not describe a browser setting as a substitute for any consent or opt-out control required by law.

Retention and deletion

Account, access and purchase records are kept to operate your account, administer subscriptions and passes, handle disputes and meet applicable accounting or legal obligations. Stored conversation and tool content supports the features you use. We do not promise a single automatic deletion period for every PingAnswers service.

Usage, diagnostic and support records are retained for operating, securing and improving the service. Retention also depends on database, hosting, email and AI provider settings. Backups and records that must be kept for legal reasons may remain after an active record is removed.

Interview recordings are sent for transcription; the transcription service does not save a separate recording in our application database. OpenAI currently lists no abuse-monitoring or application-state retention for its audio transcription endpoint. This does not mean that transcripts, subsequent AI feedback requests or files saved on your device have the same retention. Other features and providers may have different settings.

To request account or data deletion, email help@pinganswers.com from the address associated with your account and identify the services involved. We may need to verify your identity. We will explain any information that must be retained and applicable limitations. Deleting local app data or uninstalling an app does not itself delete server records or cancel a subscription.

Your choices and requests

You can choose what to submit, type instead of recording, and revoke microphone permission in device settings. Stopping use of a feature prevents new submissions through that feature but does not automatically delete earlier records.

Contact help@pinganswers.com to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your information, or to ask about withdrawing consent or objecting to processing. Rights and exceptions depend on your location. We may verify requests and will respond under applicable requirements. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Where applicable, processing is based on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in security and service operation, legal obligations, or consent for activities that require it. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Students, teachers and children

Study and teaching tools can involve student information. Teachers and schools should limit submissions to what is needed, use appropriate participant identifiers, and have the authority and permissions required to provide student information. Requests involving a school-managed activity may need coordination with the school or teacher.

A general privacy policy does not provide parental consent or school authorization. Services directed to children or used with children below the applicable age of consent require appropriate additional notices, consent and safeguards before personal information is collected. Contact help@pinganswers.com before submitting a child’s personal information if you are unsure whether those arrangements are in place.

If you believe a child’s information was provided without required authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Security and international processing

Information is processed using our systems and service providers, which may operate in the United States and other countries. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location. Applicable transfer requirements and provider arrangements must be considered when a service processes information internationally.

We use access controls and technical safeguards to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Keep account credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our services and practices change. The updated date on this page identifies the latest revision. Material changes may require additional notice or consent.

Privacy contact: help@pinganswers.com. Include “Privacy request” in the subject and tell us which PingAnswers service your request concerns. Do not send your password or full payment card number.
